Downhill Skateboard-Festival in Thalgau !
The fastest race of the IGSA (International Gravity Sports Association) worldcup series takes place for it's second time in Thalgau (near Salzburg) from July 23rd through 26th, 2008.
More than 120 skaters from all over the world are looking forward to this unique event, with speed highs of 100 kph for stand-up and 120 kph for laydown disciplines.
Beginning on wednesday July 23, the riders from all disciplines (downhill skateboarders, classic luges, street luges, gravity bikes and dirt surfer) have the possiblity to train on the track and get to know the fastest route. Also on Thursday and Friday morning the riders get the chance to practice on the course.
What's the schedule?
Starting on thurday afternoon with the 1st qualification run (in order of the starting numbers - high to low) and on Friday afternoon the 2nd qualification run (in order of the times from the 1st qualification - highest beginning), can be witnessed.
On saturday, the race day, the visitors can watch a thrilling championship from various places along the track. There is one great observation point in a 180°bend, where it's almost possible to feel the racer's surge of adrenalin, trying to overtake their competitors.
As usual, light catering and beverages for all visitors are provided in the finish area as well as on the track. Everybody is invited to celebrate with us on Friday night with dj´s and saturday night, from 9pm onwards, a party with two austrian rock bands, The Gang Bang Gang and Pink As A Panther.

Das schnellste Rennen der IGSA (International Gravity Sports Association) Worldcup Series findet vom 23.-26.Juli 2008 seine zweite Auflage!
Über 120 Skater aus der ganzen Welt fiebern diesem einzigartigen Event, mit Spitzengeschwindigkeiten bei den stehendfahrenden Skateboardern über 100km/h und knapp 120km/h bei den liegenden Disziplinen, ungeduldig entgegen.
Am Mittwoch können die Downhill-Skateboarder, ClassicLuger, Streetluger und Dirtsurfer sich die Strecke beim Training einprägen. Donnerstag und Freitag vormittags gibt es noch mal die Möglichkeit zum Training, aber nach der Mittagspause wird es dann für alle ernst beim Qualifying. Am Donnerstag starten die Teilnehmer nach Startnummern aufsteigend, um dann am Freitag nach den Zeiten der Donnerstags Qualifikation, die schnellsten zum Schluss, auf die Jagd nach der besten Zeit und sich somit einem Top Startplatz für das Rennen zu sichern.
Auch am Samstag, dem Renntag, können von den bereits bekannten Beobachtungspunkten, in den 180°Kurven, die Besucher das Adrenalin der Fahrer, bei Ihren atemberaubenden Überholmanöver fast spüren!
Als weiteres Highlight werden sich wagemutige Piloten mit ihren Bobbycars den Berg hinunter stürzen.
Auch fürs leibliche Wohl der Zuschauer ist in der mittleren Kehre und im Zielgelände wieder gesorgt. Am Samstag Abend, ab 21.00 Uhr, heizen 2 öst. Rockbands, The Gang Bang Gang und Pink As A Panther, den Skatern und Besuchern im Zielgelände richtig ein.
